my lovely lady lumps

sorry for the crappy pic. stupid scanner made it look yucky. but i'm gonna get a new one soon (i hope). pic from left: Amelia, me, Julia, Dani- about 3 or 4 years ago, cocktail party iv style!

Yep, these are my ladies. my college girls. and they'll be here in just a few short hours! how stoked am i? we all lived together freshman year in our dorm- Fransico Torres (FT, or f*#k towers. hey, i didn't give it that name! but it was what it was called). Dani (on the far right) was my roomate, Julia (between me and dani) my "suite mate" and Amelia was right across the hall. And they are the 3 girls that i still talk to from those crazy freshman days. we all ended up living together through the four years spent in Isla Vista (crazy college town for UCSB). we've been through a lot together, especially me and dani since she had to share a room with me (not an easy task....... she's the only one who's ever done it, besides hubby steve). we've had plenty of wild nights- PLENTY. in fact, it was these three girls i was out with when i met my now husband. and were there for lots of my crazy stunts that i should not post online. lots and LOTS of laughs. like ridiculous amounts. definetly some tears and drama (4 girls, how could there not be?) and drama with lots of psycho ex-friends. but mostly really good times- like the night where amelia taught us to "pop" our booties, or we crank called 411 and asked for the ghost busters (you had to be there). and of course, marion berry (mary and berry???) jam night. i could go on.............
but these girls, seriously, we all have the best time together. since they all graduated and left santa barbara, we're now all over the country. Dani is now a homeowner in portland OR, after traveling the world. Julia is in Med School (yay for doctor friends!) in VA. and Amelia is in law school (yippie yay for lawyer friends! always comes in handy............) in San Fransico. and i'm married me in beautiful (but freakin hot) San Diego county. the last time we all saw each other was last year at my wedding. before that, the year before at my engagement party. so we've decided to keep up the yearly tradition, and this year they're all coming to me casa.
not much planned for the weekend, but i know it will be AWESOME times.
awww, i love my friends : )
have a fabu weekend everyone!

hot in HERE

i used to have a little boy sing that song. not appropriate, but freakin hysterical!!!
anyways, yeah, its hot here and its not even cool. cause its humid too. and yes, i know that the rest of the country is hot too, and probably hotter and more humid- but still. its not supposed to be this hot and humid HERE. its ridiculous. i walked outside with my kids this afternoon for snack and felt like i walked into a sauna! crazy. so we had snack and came back in. can't even deal..........
had a fabulous weekend, saw one of my best highschool friends friday night- but forgot to take pictures!!!!
yummy dinner party saturday night, with a special bottle of 1981 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvingon. fab-u-lous. good times had by all. then sunday my brother greg and his girlfriend anne came in. they're here for the week- they're going to do the whole touristy thing while they are here, and hang out with some of anne's family thats also here. and next weekend my college girls are coming to visit- i'm sooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!
so really, nothing to post about except to complain about how hot it is here. and it is reaching the 100's and the humidity is like high (i don't know much about humidity since its not supposed to be humid here!!! but i do know that its freakin humid, like mid-west style)

i hope you all are having a cooler fabulous week. hoping to be getting a cj soon so i can get my scrap on ; )

Happy Birthday Mr. A!

aka, my dad

yep yep, its my dads birthday today. thought i'd give him a little shout out. not that he reads my blog. he probably doesn't even know what a blog is. he finally got his first computer when i left for college.
anyways- i called my dad this morning to wish him happy birthday, bright and early. and his response "oh shit!" yep, didn't even remember it was his bday! but his day started off right, being wished a happy day by his favorite (um, and only) daughter.
those of you who know me irl, and know my dad- you'll know that i AM my fathers daughter. we are so similar, except i'm not even close to as smart as he is. but we're both loud and out-going, probably both get obnoxious sometimes, definite leaders, people lovers, babies and kiddos especially, stubborn, love our families and don't put up with bs. and i totally look like him. i'm an adams' girl through and through!
my dad is awesome, such a fun person to be around. of course, growing up i did not appreciate that. he would drive me bonkers and we would constently bump heads. but now i'm all growns up, and he's one of my best friends. i go to him for advice, personal and business (and he's very good at the business!), i love hanging out with him and listening to his stories. and i get so excited when he comes to visit!
so happy birthday dad! hope its the bestest : )
xoxo
love

feeling risque???

so this is a little scandalous, don't want to offend anyone. So thats why i'm not posting it on 2peas. My entry for Muriels cocktail recipie book cj. Now, everyone knows i love my vino. Love love love it. But thats not to fun for a recipie book (open the bottle, and pour!). I also love margaritas, but thought i should throw in a little shock factor with this one ; ) (so please, sorry if i offend you, but if i did, just remember that its my blog darnit!)

(sorry that the scan is bad, and the colors on the pics aren't up to par. my ink is running low on my computer)
BJ Shots. i'm sure most of you know what that stands for, not gonna write it out. but seriously, my favorite shot to take. cant' have a bachelorette party with out one. and its YUMMY. like chocolate. MMMMMMMM. and the fact that you take it with no hands is fun too. good stuff. so Val, its on its way- but you're on your honeymoon!!!!!!!! So it'll be waiting for you when you get home : ) (if you guys haven't seen her blog lately, you have to check out her wedding pics! i can't believe she has some of them already, and she looks gorgeous! love happy pretty weddings!)

and since we're on the topic of risque and scandalous..................... so i have this 18 month old little boy. the cutest frickin thing ever. seriously. and he's hysterical! anyways, he's also learning to talk. got quite the little vocabulary. the basics- up, no, night night, and then, clock. he's obsessed with them. the minute he walks in a room, he turns right to where the wall clock is and points and says "CLOCK"- except for one thing. except for the "L." can't quite pronouce the L sound yet. so yeah, thats what he's walking around saying. and its quite clear. what do you do????

hope you all have a fabulous tuesday. i just talked to licensing yesterday and my Large License is on its way! I"m sooooooooo freakin stoked! bring on the kiddos ; )

whats your flavor?

Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins began making ice cream in 1945. Their mission was to create delicious ice cream concoctions with loads of ingredients and fanciful names. From the initial concept of 31 flavors- one for every day of the month, nearly 1,000 different ice cream flavors have been created and enjoyed by ice cream lovers everywhere. Bring it home today!

nap time. and alllllll the kids are quiet and sleeping. wow. not really sure what to do. decided i needed a treat. gold medal ribbon ice cream. my favorite. just the perfect serving amount left in the carton, so why bother with a bowl? delicious. makes me so happy. : )

so that was a few days ago. now its the weekend. and 100 degrees outside. yuck. wish i had some more of that ice cream right now..........

welcome home!!!

so yes, i'm back
been back since saturday
but you know how life gets crazy when you get back from a trip?
my suitcases are still on the floor in my bedroom, semi-unpacked.
but i got laundry done!
the house is cleanish
and i'm back to work.

my assistant starts friday- I. Can. Not. Wait. seriously. it'll be fabulous. i'm stoked to have Steve here everyday, but he's usually busy in the garage or what not. And i do feel bad having him help me out. So my assistant starting- kick ass!

i'll have to post vaca pics later. maybe tonight. but in order to do that, i need to organize all my photos on my computer upstairs adn take a bunch off, then load up the new ones. thats a lot of work for my lazy booty. its ok, cause the pics aren't that exciting anyways.........
but yes, my trip was AWESOME
lots of laziness
book reading
movie watching
eating lots of good food
with lots of fabulous family and friends : )
and it wasn't that hot. this is the second summer i've taken steve to iowa and the weather hasn't been that bad. he probably thinks i'm making up the ridiculous humity and heat that i usually have to endure when i would make this yearly trek.
but it was good times.

have a few recomendations for y'all
books
The Nanny Diaries
totally cute. very similar to The Devil Wears Prada, the whole psycho boss thing, but instead of fashion its kids. so i could relate more. but a fun, easy read, and just really cute.
movies
saw a BUNCH
love Wedding Crashers, cause it came out right before my wedding last year. and vince and owen- too funny!
Saved. that was interesting. not really what i expected, but entertaining. def a teen movie. but there's this one time where the school principal does a flip- freakin HILARIOUS!!!!!
The Longest Yard (can you tell that i was surrounded by boys on this trip? no girly movies for me!)
this was actually really good, even though it didnt' do well in the theaters. i think thats because it wasn't a typical "adam sandler" movie. it is kinda hard to take him for a serious football player, but whatever- good movie.
and yeah, the rest were just whatever or i don't remember them. those three just pop in my head. but i was nice to rent movies, i don't do that at home very often (steve prefers to watch the movies we have- party pooper ; p ) so it was cool. and i always love a good book. started a book by Lisa Scottoline last night, good so far........

other than that, it was just fun chillin with my family; my parents, my grandma, my brothers, and all my cousins by the dozens
i'll try to post pics later, but i can't promise anything..........
have a fabulous hump day! (so glad that its almost over!!!!!)
xoxo

scrappy love

so, i actually got some scrapbooking done
woot!
so stoked
my entry for monica's cj
what i couldnt' live with out
my wine
not the most fabulous layout, but i am pretty proud of my little poem (i'm pretending i'm actually good at it!)

At the end of the day
How I love to enjoy a glass of cabernet

And nothing relaxes me more
Than a fabulous pinot noir

A great syrah
Makes me say hurrah

A great vintage or year
Does nothing but make me cheer

Oh how I love my vino
Drink so much, I must be in wino

Yes, to live with wine
Is simply Divine

To not…..
Well, frankly- I’d rather be shot

i know, i know. i'm such a freakin dork. but i amuse myself : )
i also have val's bday tag- super simply but bling blingin'

happy belated bday chica. hope it was fabulous!!!!!!

went and saw The Devil Wears Prada last night. Very cute. A good book to be made into a movie for sure. A few changes, but made for a better movie. Def. Kat approved ; )

Tomorrow is my big trip to IOWA. i'm so excited, y'all don't even know!!!!!!
So i'll probably be MIA for a week.
Hope you all have a very happy and very safe 4th of July!
