Happy Halloween!!!!!

YEAAAA!
halloween is here! one of my favorite holidays (along with St. Patricks day and 4th of July). I love dressing up, just like i love my theme parties. and carving pumpkins is always so intertaining. i always want my pumpkin to be one of those super cool ones, but it never works out. i spent an hour on the pumpkin this year, carving AND talking on the phone to my friend hammertime in argentina. it didn't turn out perfect, but i still love it

This year, since i'm broke as a joke, i couldn't do anything too fun for a costume. i wanted to be a "gold digger" and wear all gold and a gold shovel and play gold digger by kanye west all night (i love that song), but that required money. so instead i just got the devil accesories, and added them to my pirate costume from a few years ago, just a different skirt. and of course, my red push up bra that makes my boobs look fake- love it! (oh, and i wore a jacket thingy over it at the party we went to so i didn't look too scandlous)
steve was/is the grim rapper. last year he was the grim reaper, and he came across the play on the name somewhere. pretty funny, and also saved money. he just got a little bling to add to his reaper costume. he got to wear the "SP" necklace he got for his bachelor party (which is actually supposed to be SD for san diego, but the store that they got it at was all ghetto and the made the D a P instead......) oh, and i never got a full body pic of steve in his costume. he also had a silver tooth, but it wouldn't stay on.
anyways, so thats the story of our costumes. nothing too exciting. but at least we got to wear them! we went to a party at the home of one of steve's "colleages" at his school, and fellow soft ball team member. it was mostly the softball team at this party, so it was a fun group. i was nervous before hand, becasue i had only met them, and some were older, and i didn't want to come off as the crazy drunk that i am, plus i was wearing a hoochie costume. but, like i said, i wore a jacket over it and was all good. and there was another girl doing the whole scandalous cop outfit. so i was good. anyways, this house was INSANE! it was decorated everyhwhere, and just looked freakin awesome. decided we could never have a halloween party after this one cause our decorations would never be so good. i shoudl have taken pictures, but i didnt, cause i dind't want everyone to think i was crazy. i left the pic taking job to steve, so not so many great pictures. mostly ones of everyone at the bar, and i'm always posted at the end taking tequilla shots or drinking "coronitas" (which i've never seen before and they're sooooo ocute! mini coronas. fun stuff) a few funny ones, like me and the host, both devils, and i thought it would look really cool to be behind my little devil fork thingy. not so much. a few funny costumes, but nothing too note worthy. nothing like the days back in ISLA VISTA where you would see everyhing under the sun. there was couple there, probably in there 50's, dressed up as goth and punk teenagers. that was amusing to me. so anywyas, it was a fun party- not too crazy, but really fun people. yea! making friends in san diego all the time. i told ya all that i would post the pics on my blog, but since they aren't that exciting, just check out my clubphoto pics http://members17.clubphoto.com/kat799337/3812868/owner-10f2.phtml

tonight i'm making chili, a favorite halloween tradition that started when i was a little girl. my best frined jessica and i would trick-or-treat togehter every year, then we woudl go to her house (both families, plus sometimes a lot more!) and eat her mom's chili. the best chili ever! love adding sour cream and lots of cheese- yuuumm. then we would count and seperate our candy into little groups. fun. so anyways, tonight having some friends over for chili, want to watch a scary movie, and pass out candy! hope everyone has a safe, fun holiday!!!!!

(oh, and i found out about why the worm was in the tequila bottle- it was to prove that the tequilla was so strong it could kill the worm. so i guess if the worm was still swimming around, that tequilla was no good)

sore legs & cheesy books

so that workout did totally kick my ass yesterday. my legs and butt are sooooo soar! but i guess its a good hurt, right?
anyways, i decided to do a book blog everytime i finish a book. for those of you who don't know, i'm an avid cheesy mystery/murder book reader. i like to read quality too, sometimes- but i love these books where you just totally get lost and odn't have to analyze everything. steve's mom has gotten me into it, and just gives me all her old books. so i rarely even chose the books, i just read what i get ; )

my favorite authors are:
Dan Brown, love allll his books, espeically The DaVinci Code- read it like a bazillion times. don't knwo what i think of tom hanks being robert langdon though........

Karen Kijewski (don't know how to pronouce her name) and the Kat Colorado series. yes, i did start reading the series cause she has the same name as me. but theyre fun books and not cheesy. does have a little love story going on, but a realistic one. not like some romance where they have amazing ridiculous sex 20 times a day and fall in love after an hour. those bug

Maya Angelou. She's just amazing. her story, her life. and i saw her read before- her voice is sooo captivating.

John Steinbeck, namely Of Mice and Men. Totally makes me cry. and the first book i ever had to read in school that i really loved.

ok, so like i said, i want to do this each time i finish a book. since i'm not in a book club or anything, and have no one to really talk to about my books, i'll just do it here. so if you do'nt care, just dont' read it. it'll be short though, promise
BAIT by Karen Robards
defiently scary and "thrilling" but the romance aspect was a little too unbelivable for me. i'm such a cynic (sp?) when it comes to romance i guess, even though i'm in love and marrried and happy. whatever. but it was scary and the plot did pull me in. Basically about this woman who is attacked by a serial killer and survives, and the FBI use her as "bait" to find him again. good times. defiently the scariest book i've read since my "peeping ron" incident..
and thats that. yea weekend!

vino warriors

hey all
sorry i haven't posted in a while. been super busy, being a chauffer. i've been driving my gimp friend courntey (she had surgery on her foot so she can't drive. not really a gimp, but i have to give her a hard time) to job interviews at malls all over southern california. its actually been good for me, since i'm waiting for this stupid preschool thing, i feel like i'm actually doing something meaningful and important. and best of all, courtney got the job as a coordinator at pottery barn kids. she gets 40% off at pottery barn kids, pottery barn, pottery barn teens, WILLIAM SONOMA AND HOLD EVERYTHING. thats just insane. oh, and a discount at some random store in LA. but holy crap. i should work there just for the discount........... anywyas, congrats courtney!

had a crazy workout w/my trainer today. she kicked my ass. my legs are like dead. i only have one more session with her and i'm sad : ( it was worth the money though, i just have no moer of it to get more sessions. then i cleaned the kitchen, now to shower then i'm off to VAPA (vista academy of the preforming arts- school where steve teaches 8th grade physical science) where his fellow teachers are throwing us and 2 other teachers at the school a wedding shower. fun fun!

question- does anyone know if those bottle of tequilla that have the worm in the bottom of hte bottle still around? and why was there ever a worm in there anyways? (any remember poltergist????)

here's me and courtney- vino warriors are we!!!!! (love to explain the reason behind this, but i'm not really sure. lets just say we had a lot of vino in us........)

assure you that Grapenuts are by far the worst cereal I have ever tasted.
Please protect yourself and your loved ones from ever having to taste such a
terrible terrible travasty in human breakfast cerals. Kindly forward this
vital information to anyone you feel could benefit from it, they'll thank
you if it's not too late."

just thought i'd pass that important message from my friend matt along to all ya. you can never be to safe.........

vaccuuming sucks

especially stairs. ya know, cleaning in general just sucks balls. thats the one thing about a big house i don't like, is that it takes forever to clean. like practically 2 hours to do a good job cleanign teh kitchen (i get a little ocd about cleaning when i do finally do it) vaccuuming takes forever and makes me all sweaty. cleaning the shower gets me all dizzy with the fumes.......

anyways, i'm not in the bestest mood ever so i had to bitch. i got my application for the preschool sent back AGAIN!!!!!! i feel like its going to take me forever to finally start this stupid preschool. i almost want to just give up and go work at a scrapbook store or something. almost. i do remember that the worst part about doing your own in home preschool is the start up. i love it once i have the kids. i'm just really really really really lucky to have such a wonderful supportive husband, and parents who can help support me while i start it up. and that i have great friends, especially the fellow UG's (unemployed gang) who can hang out with me... (http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=665425)

so all you people's out there who say that theyre checking out my blog but not commenting- comment damnit! i don't want to feel like a complete loser who's typing away and no one cares. even if you do'nt care, just let me know that i'm a dork.

anyways, didn't want to do a negative blog. just wanted everyone ot know the status of shuckleberries preschool. on a lighter note, its sunny out again. of course, i wish it was all rainy so it could match my mood.
i visited my cousin amanda last night and got to see the boys. they are tooooo cute. josh is all tubby baby and can roll over. jordan is a little freakin comedian (did i tell you all how he does the napolean dynamite dance?) and austin is a like a little man now.
so i'll leave some pics of them from the last time i visited. jordan and josh at least (i couldn't get any good ones of austin during soccer practice....)

1.7 BILLION dollars

THAT is a lot of money. seriously, more than i could ever even dream of. what do you do with that kind of money? apparently its most expensive divorce settlement ever- ya think? some woman got $1.7 billion in her freakin divorce settlement. dude, i'd divorce the guy too if thats how much money i would get!!!!!! the really important facts i learn from watching VH1

its all cold and dreary here in "sunny" san diego. its ok sometimes. i love that i get to wear my uggs again. i dont' care is US magazine says they're "out" i loved them before they were in, and i love them still. the weather makes me want to stay in and cuddle and watch movies and sleep and read good books and put a fire in the fireplace and sip something. hot chocolate, wine, bourban- whatever. (not that i ever sip bourbon) the problem is it doesn't motivate me at all. i can't do anything. and that sucks when i'm trying to start this stupid preschool...........l

i have the biggest, grossest bruise on my leg. its actually not that big, but some crazy combination of colors. i got its from high ho silver lassie the horse. i realized that i haven't told many people my crazy horse story, so i thought i'd fill ya all in on the "blog"- thats what its for, right?
so, last week i get a phone call from my friend matt inviting me to go horseback riding at our friend eric's house the next day. me being the self-employed-but-currently-not-working woman that i am, decide its a fabulous idea. and it was. we start off brushing and cleaning the horse, which was actually really nice (even though i was a little uneasy about brushing the tail- i won't even walk 10 feet behind a horse cause of my feet of getting kicked). i bonded with lassie- this 20 year old or something horse that seemed really mellow. eric said something about how she likes to "rear up" or something, but i dind't know what that meant and thought he was just giving me a hard time anyway. but no, he was right. we're mossying along in rancho santa fe, when apparently lassie tripped and farted and scared herself- so she does this hi-ho silver style buck, all twisted and arched like in the movies. and i'm sitting on her. i get like flung around bucking broncho style, but manage to stay on (what that says about me, i don't know). and i got SLAMMED on my left side against her saddle. and my leg charley-horsed up, and i was freaked out. i calmed down and still rode her- i didn't really want to admit that i wanted to just get off and send her home. she also decided that she was going to leap over logs a few times. keep in mind that i'm not a seasoned horseback rider, so i was freaked out. thats the last time i go horse back riding at erics house. so thats the story of my bruise.
i'm trying to add pics of me and lassie the psycho horse, but i can't tell if its working. if it is, notice my cowboy hat and boots. i'm so cool

i could blog all day. i have a lot of things on my mind. like how much child proofing and putting together kids toys sucks. that alone could make you not want kids. but i don't want to bore you all. and i should do something productive.
so i'll leave you all with a pic of me and my new rock star hair cut. sorry i haven't sent out a pic like some of you asked. here's me and amy- hairstylist to the rock stars...........
(if anyone is interested, she's in calabasa ca, and she really does famous rock stars hair)

wedding pictures

yea!!!!!! my wedding pics are finally online. what a fun way to start my blog. kinda, not really. anyways, go to http://www.barnettphoto.com
go to proofs
user name; Post
password: pos1

and then you can also check out his baby pics page- hes sooooo takign pictures of my babies! i can't wait. he'll even take some of me when i'm pregnant. not like the cheesy ones (no offense if anyone likes those) but good ones. anywyas, i'm excited

so about the whole blog thing......... not really 100% understanding it yet. like, how do people read? do i just advertise it? i don't have all that much fun stuff to advertise for. i also can't figure out how to put a picture up for my profile. can anyone help me? i'm kinda computer DUMB. also, what am a allowed to say on these things? i've seen other people swear, so i know i can do that....... just don't want to get in trouble. i do kon wthat you aren't supposed to talk about work on your blog. i read a people article about some work folks who got fired for talkign shit about their jobs on their blogs (which, in my opinion, they're kinda dumbasses for doign that in the first place, so serves them right). oh, and i do'nt know how to take off that little section "about me" i did that while under the influece and i think i sound like a tool and want it gone. so if anyone can help.
now a fun story, about:
the picture i put up under *cheers* was taken last week when me and 10 close friends opened a bottle of 1981 chatue (sp?) something or other cabernet sauvignon that my dad bought when i was a baby for the wedding. he wasn't sure if it would be ok for the wedding, so he just told me to open it up some tiem and try it with friends. so i did! it was an imperial bottle- so that REALLY huge bottle you alwasy see displayed at italian resturants but never see anyone drink? yeah, and its equal to about 5 bottles of wine. no on thought we woudl finish it that night, but i had no doubts. and we finished it off, no problem. and a few other small bottles....... needless to say, we had a fabulous evening! mmmm, i love my wine......

my very firstest post

don't really have much to say- yet. actually, thats a lie- i have lots to say. but right now i'm just trying to figure out how to use this silly thing........
