best idea of the day

hello all!
so, pretty mellow weekend. saturday i was supposed to go sailing w/my dad and hubby and a business friend of my dad. but it was supposed to "storm" (which, in so cal terms, is like sprinkling) but i'm a little scared of the ocean, and i get sea sick. so the boys let me stay home! it was so nice. i slept in, watched tv, read my book. good times. that night i scrapbooked- finished my cj!!! which actually was a little stressful cause the lo i ORIGINALLY wanted to do just wasn't working, so i had to start all over. shuckleberries. but it was nice. then sunday i got lotsa lotsa stuff done, cleaning, bake some BOMB brownies from Martha Stewarts Baking handguide book. sooooooooooooooooo good. then made a fancy dinner for my parents and steve. it was their last night here. they took off monday morning...... we have teh house to ourselves!!!!!!
anyways, monday i was getting ready for my kids to come : ) cleaning a bit more, and i went out to lunch w/a girlfriend who is moving. i'm sad, cause she's my only scrapbooking friend in the SD area and now she's moving to georgia!!!!!! sad sad.
anyways, so earlier that day steve and i were at the gym (he had the day off for mlk day) and he comes up to me and says "i just had the best idea of the day. actually the second best, the first best was having bacon & eggs for breakfast" (he's such a nerd. so am i though, i love him ; ) ) so, for xmas he had gotten as gift certificate to best buy. he had only used a little bit of money, and there was a good amount left. so his idea was that he use that gc, plus maybe a little more money, and buy a new camera instead of paying to repair a camera that neither of us really liked in the first place. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a FANTABULOUS Freakin idea. i told him it was by far his best idea of the day ; ) its just our little point in shoot, nothing fancy yet. but i DID look at the digi rebel. beautimus. anyways, so we bought a canon power shot a520. 4 megapixels (more than the last one), big zoom, easy to use, good times. and it was on sale for $200. we had to buy a card (1 megabite, on sale at best buy for $60 after a rebate. pretty darn good deal for 400+ pictures if you ask me...................) so i'm super duper excited! i have a camera again! aren't yall so excited? so i'll be able to keep posting pics, and be able to take lots of great pics in hawaii, and not have to deal with sendin in the camera to get repaired. my hubbie is the bestest.

ok, so now its time for the tahoe pictures............. (remember, i got these from a friend. didn't take them myself. guess thats ok though, cause if i had taken pictures you al would get bored looking at all them)
first off, check out this view:

the weather was gorgeous! and tahoe is always beautiful. my first run i totally got all distracted by the view. soooo gorgeous.
anyways, here's the group the day i went out

our friend jon, we met up with for half the day. my hubby, my bro greg (making a face, who knows what he was doing......) my dad, my bro chris not even trying to look at the camera, me all red and wind-burned, family friend emily. my dad's friend nick was taking the pic. they've been friends since they were 5!

my dad always steals steve's hats, i guess they wear the same size. anyways, so he was trying on steve's beanie. yeah dad, not really working on ya........

ok, here's where the funny stories come in
so one night us "kids" went out to dinner while the "parents" did their thing. we got some yummy pizza, then us girls were going to get ice cream from cold stones (mmmmm). yes, it was freezing out. but i love me some ice cream............ anyways, so while we were getting ice cream the boys were supposed to be playing pool. but when we came back they were no where to be found! wtf. so we had to go searching for them around this little shopping area (in north shore tahoe, by all the casinos and stuff if you've ever done tahoe). anyways, so we're walking and looking (and freakin freezing, maybe the ice cream wasn't such a good idea......) and we are by this blockbuster thats all windows pretty much. all the sudden, this woman just walks STRAIT into a window. like not even to a door. i know i should laugh, but it was hysterical! we totally walked around the corner then just bust out laughing!!!! she didn't get hurt hurt, probably just her ego, and come on- that just hysterical. what made it even FUNNIER was that when we walked by again (still couldn't find the boys) we saw this:

yes, that is her FACE mark on the window. wow, she hit that window harder than we thought! someone stood on the otherside of the window so that we could see the mark better for the picture. look closely. you can see her chin, mouth, nose and forhead! ahahhhahahaaa, cracke me up. glad my friend had her camera : ) oh, and the boys had decided that they wanted ice cream too. guess we passed them, but i was annoyed
ok, then the next night we all (parents and kids) went to dinner at this english pub. my dad decides to order "toad in the bucket." whats that you ask? this:

and that was pretty much my expression when i saw it. um, EWW. but he ate it.
later that night us "kids" went to see jason mraz. before this, i had only heard of him- i knew he was in those gap commercials, but i didn't know any of his music. well, my dad bought all us kids tickets cause he heard that jason mraz was cool. rock on, we were all looking forward to it, even though none of us really knew him. turns out i did know a few of his songs, and i know really likehim. my type of music. love people singing and guitars. and this dude has quite the vocals. i was impressed............
so, we were sitting at the table, and it was warm, and everyone's layers came off. i look at my husband and two brothers, and they were all wearing grey t-shirts. awwwww, how cute. so i makek our friend take a picture:

of COURSE they cant' just smile and be all nice. this picture freakin CRACKS me up though! my youngest bro, in the middle, totally looks like a little kid! of course chris, my other bro, is harassing him, and then there's steve- just totally laughing at him! ok, so yeah, that pic cracks me up.
anyways, there are my tahoe pics!!!!!!!!!
have a fabulous tuesday, and i'll let you all know how my first day "back at work" went : )

Hey Kat! I am really liking the word "shuckleberries". I think I may have to use that one. Congrats on the new camera. Don't let any kids or dogs eat your media card. I know from experience the problems it causes! And last, but not least, it looks like you had a great time in Tahoe. I am quite jealous. That said...have a great Tuesday!
